Sustainability and Fair Trade

Holy Lama products are predominantly made from natural ingredients, avoiding harsh chemicals or synthetics. Packaging is sustainable, less than 1% waste is generated during production, and all waste is repurposed as fuel or animal feed, resulting in an exceptionally low carbon footprint.

Raw materials are primarily sourced from local farmers in Kerala and other parts of India, with whom the company has maintained strong relationships for over seven decades. Holy Lama operates on a no-credit principle – all farmers and suppliers are paid immediately, and factory staff receive fair wages.

Women-Led Enterprise

Holy Lama is recognized in Kerala as a government-approved women’s enterprise, where over 80% of employees are women. Many come from disadvantaged backgrounds (e.g., widows or women abandoned by partners) and are given the opportunity to work, gain independence, and thrive.
