Geological and Mineral Information:
Snowflake Obsidian is formed by the rapid cooling of lava rich in silicon and oxygen. This rapid cooling prevents the formation of crystals, resulting in the stone’s amorphous structure. The snowflake-like inclusions in Snowflake Obsidian may consist of quartz, plagioclase, or other minerals that separated from the lava during cooling. It is a relatively hard stone, with a hardness of 5 – 5.5 on the Mohs scale, meaning it cannot be scratched by a fingernail.

Snowflake Obsidian is grounding and helps one face responsibilities. It repels negative energy and teaches us to value both our mistakes and successes.
